The Mind of Christ

 The Mind of Christ
Philippians 2 :5: "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus". NKJV

In this passage we are encouraged to have the mind of Christ. One may wonder, why does Paul encourage us to have the mind of Christ? What the significance of the mind? Brethren, the battle of life is the battle of the mind. Each day there is a battle raging between the forces of light and forces of darkness to take absolute control of your mind. Why? The emphatic truth is that whoever or whatsoever controls your mind controls your life.

A person's mind is the garden where seeds are sown, and from which yields every thought, action, habit, and character. As it is commonly said "Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an act, reap a habit; sow a habit, and you reap a character; sow a character, and you reap a destiny". Satan attempts to control our lives by implanting destructive thoughts into our minds. 'Voices' in the head are not uncommon: thoughts of depression, anxiety, lust, negativity, self-doubt, low self-esteem instigated by the devil to thwart us from God's purpose and our destiny. We might think these thoughts are our very own; however, some of these thoughts are implanted by the devil. Here is the good news, we have been given authority to resist all the fiery darts and tricks of the devil. James 4 vs 7 says Submit yourselves, then to God. resist the devil and he will flee from you. This is the very reason why Proverbs 4 vs 23 admonishes us to "guard our heart with all diligence; for out of it flows the issues of life." To become an impactful citizen on earth, one must WIN the battle of the mind. Renewing our minds daily with the word of God is imperative if we want to become healthy and bring change to the world.

God communicates to us via our spirit, but an accurate interpretation of God communication relies on the stature or condition of one's mind. What can we do to have the mind of Christ? the answer is simple: "Taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ" (2nd Corinthians 10 vs 5). The bible advised us in Romans 12 vs 2, not to be conformed to the pattern of this world but instead be progressively transformed as we mature spiritually by the renewing of our minds. In reading Romans 12:2, the first thing I noticed was "the pattern of this world."  The world, in fact, does have a pattern. Psychology shows that there are patterns of thoughts, emotions, attitudes that deprives people of joy, peace and hope. This pattern is one of negativity, hopelessness and sin. The renewal of the mind entails as advised by Paul in Philippians 4 vs 8 to focus on things that are of godly values, and of good report; what is noble and true. The renewal of our minds comes from daily meditating on the word of God. By the practice of daily meditation on God's word, we acquire the mind of Christ which enables us to become more like Christ. By daily meditating on God's word, we receive divine Grace to WIN the battle of the mind.

"If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought" - Peace Pilgrim.

Position In Christ

Position In Christ, Part 1.             John 14 vs 14, "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it".  NKJV John 14:14 says, "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it." Simple, right? Just ask in Jesus' name, and it will be done! But here's the thing: Sometimes, it doesn’t feel like that’s the case. We pray, we ask, we believe, and yet, the answers don’t always come. As a young believer, I was told that if my prayers weren't answered, they weren't in line with God's will. But there are situations where people are sick, and we lay hands on them for healing, but they don’t recover. Jesus promised in Mark 16:18, “They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” So, what’s going on? Here is a surprising truth: Simply saying “In Jesus' name” at the end of a prayer doesn’t guarantee answered prayers. I know that sounds wild, but let me explain. When Jesus walked the earth, the name "Jesus" didn’t even exist. Back then, He wa...

The Transformative Power of the Word

Unlocking the Power in God's Word The Bible tells us something very important in Joshua 1: 8 (NKJV):  "This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." This verse reminds us that God's word is not something to take lightly. It's not just a book - it's our lifeline. Our physical and spiritual health depends on it. (Psalm 33:6, Matthew 4:4).  Nothing is more fundamental to human existence than the living Word of God. The Bible is not a collection of empty phrases; it's a principal guide on navigating life on earth.  There is POWER in the word of God. As John 1 vs 1 (NKJV) declares:   "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. "   Here, we understand that the Word of God is not merely inspired writing - it is a d...
