WHO AM I?

Who Am I?

Psalm 8 vs 4- 5

What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You care for him? Yet You have made him a little lower than God (Elohim). (AMP)

There are certain questions that troubles us, questions that we face great difficulty in answering. One of them if not the most difficult question in life is the question of Identity, WHO AM I? Each human being on earth; approximately 8.1 billion people in the world is UNIQUE and is not a mistake. However, people spend their lives trying to answer, “Who Am I?” This question is so important that it influences the dynamics of the world. Most of our actions are motivated by this question. The greatest tragedy on earth is not death, but the tragedy of not knowing who you are?  Such tragedy is termed by the psychologist Erikson as "the identity crises".

To discover our identity, there is no more fitting place to start than the creation story. In the creation story one can discover the principle of self-identity. God speaks things into being by the power of His word. When God wanted vegetation and living creatures, He spoke to the earth (Genesis 1:11,24); hence, vegetations and earth creatures is 100% dirt. When God wanted stars, He spoke to the firmament (Genesis 1:14) hence the stars are 100% gas. When God wanted sea creatures, He spoke to the waters (Genesis 1:20); hence, sea creatures is made up of 100% water dirt. This principle helps illustrates that a creation must remain attached to its source to in order to live and flourish. Hence, Gods creation must rely on its source for sustenance. Plants came from the earth; it must remain attached to the earth in order to live. Sea creatures come from waters, therefore, must remain in waters in order to live. Star came from firmament, hence must stay in the firmament in order to be established. If plants are removed from the earth, they will die; if fishes are removed from waters, they will expire; if the stars leave the firmament, it will get burnt up.

In Genesis 1:26, the bible says “And God said, let US make man in our image, after our likeness…” When God wanted man, He spoke to Himself. GOD IS A SPIRIT. Hence, man is 100% spirit. As in previous examples, because man came from God Himself; for man to live and flourish, he has to remain in God. God loves us so much because we are of HIM. Plants, creatures, fishes, cannot worship God because they are made up of 100% dirt. In John 4:24, the bible says, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." That why only YOU can worship Him because you are 100% spirit. Man is a spirit that lives in a body (earth suit) and possesses a soul (mind, will and emotions).

Reflection:

Genesis 1:26 states Then God said "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness"... Our identity is in God and God ONLY. Today is a good day to start knowing God. The more you know Him, the more you will know your identity. Chose to believe and proclaim what He says about you. When you lose yourself in Christ, you will find yourself. He values you so much that He gave up His life for you and knows you better than you know yourself. In Jeremiah 1:5 God says "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you"... Our identity is set in Christ! A deeper knowledge of God can lead us to a deeper knowledge of ourselves and our spiritual identity.

To answer the great question of “Who AM I” you will find the answer in the ‘Great I AM’

Position In Christ

Position In Christ, Part 1.             John 14 vs 14, "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it".  NKJV John 14:14 says, "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it." Simple, right? Just ask in Jesus' name, and it will be done! But here's the thing: Sometimes, it doesn’t feel like that’s the case. We pray, we ask, we believe, and yet, the answers don’t always come. As a young believer, I was told that if my prayers weren't answered, they weren't in line with God's will. But there are situations where people are sick, and we lay hands on them for healing, but they don’t recover. Jesus promised in Mark 16:18, “They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” So, what’s going on? Here is a surprising truth: Simply saying “In Jesus' name” at the end of a prayer doesn’t guarantee answered prayers. I know that sounds wild, but let me explain. When Jesus walked the earth, the name "Jesus" didn’t even exist. Back then, He wa...

The Transformative Power of the Word

Unlocking the Power in God's Word The Bible tells us something very important in Joshua 1: 8 (NKJV):  "This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." This verse reminds us that God's word is not something to take lightly. It's not just a book - it's our lifeline. Our physical and spiritual health depends on it. (Psalm 33:6, Matthew 4:4).  Nothing is more fundamental to human existence than the living Word of God. The Bible is not a collection of empty phrases; it's a principal guide on navigating life on earth.  There is POWER in the word of God. As John 1 vs 1 (NKJV) declares:   "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. "   Here, we understand that the Word of God is not merely inspired writing - it is a d...

The Mind of Christ

The Mind of Christ Philippians 2 :5: "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus". NKJV                    In this passage we are encouraged to have the mind of Christ. One may wonder, why does Paul encourage us to have the mind of Christ? What the significance of the mind? Brethren, the battle of life is the battle of the mind. Each day there is a battle raging between the forces of light and forces of darkness to take absolute control of your mind. Why? The emphatic truth is that whoever or whatsoever controls your mind controls your life.                  A person's mind is the garden where seeds are sown, and from which yields every thought, action, habit, and character . As it is commonly said "Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an act, reap a habit; sow a habit, and you reap a character; sow a character, and you reap a destiny". Sata...
